Challenge

Azure customers need capacity across a broad and continually expanding portfolio of services. Quota requests for compute, storage, and other resources must be evaluated consistently at global scale while accounting for regional supply, service constraints, and customer demand.

The system needed to support both current services and more than 100 future service integrations without fragmenting the request experience.

02

Approach

Contributed as part of the design team for the quota management system that unified how global capacity requests are submitted, evaluated, and routed. Helped shape a service-extensible model capable of supporting diverse resource types while preserving a consistent customer and operational workflow.

03AllocateRoute demand against capacity
03

What changed

The resulting quota management system now processes more than 50% of global Azure capacity requests across services including compute and storage.

Its extensible design established a shared foundation for onboarding additional services while maintaining a consistent path for customers and capacity operations.

Why it matters

Helped design the quota platform now handling more than half of global capacity requests across 100+ Azure services.
